No other Chicago neighborhood is like Old Town. Tucked behind high-rises and moments from the vast green space of Lincoln Park, this landmark district has a unique history and diversity. We’ll explore homes built immediately after the Great Fire of 1871, a church that survived the Fire and historic homes by legendary architects.
Discover Old Town's legacy as an artists' colony and its amazing mosaic of unique homes built after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Today diversity adds richness to Old Town from St. Michael's Church—considered a survivor of the 1871 fire, to the Midwest Buddhist Temple. We'll explore historic frame residences, early Adler and Sullivan row-houses and town-homes designed by Harry Weese, Walter Netsch and artist Edgar Miller.
