What does it take to design like an architect? In this camp, we'll learn the skills all designers need to bring an idea to life. Campers will work through the design process to create a community-focused structure for the city of Chicago, while taking into account real-world issues like accessibility, sustainability and affordability. Participants will learn sketching, basic computer modeling and 3-D model making. They will also have an opportunity to work alongside visiting architecture and design professionals.

This camp runs from 9am to 3:30pm each day. It includes the following dates:

  • Monday, July 17
  • Tuesday, July 18
  • Wednesday, July 19
  • Thursday, July 20
  • Friday, July 21

Enrollment is limited to 16 participants. Campers should wear comfortable clothes appropriate for doing arts and crafts and bring a lunch, water bottle and hat. All campers will go outside daily. Snacks and materials will be provided. The camp will culminate with a showcase for family and friends at 2pm on July 21.
